To All His Girls
Katie S., age 14, Georgia
To all His girls that are Crazy and yell Rock on. The ones that will
party for Jesus all night long.
To all His girls that ever just gave up, and they turned to a knife.
They thought the only thing left to do was end their
life.
To all His girls that are wild and hard core. The ones that will keep
running even when they are sore.
To all His girls that play with fire and jump in the pool with their
clothes on. When these girls are hyper, things may go
a little wrong.
To all His girls that will keep going and when they get stuck, they
trust in Him to get them out of the rut.
To all His girls that were ever lost or confused. The ones that were
treated wrongly and inside abused.
To all his girls that are always searching for more, they won’t give up.
They just keep looking for that open door.
To all His girls that were cheated on by some boy. They were hurt inside
and felt like a toy.
To all His girls that trip and walk into walls. The ones that run around
screaming in the middle of the mall.
To all His girls that love you just the way you are. The ones that
really don’t care if you forgot your make-up again.
These are the girls you want as a friend.
To all His girls that aren’t in any kinda’ group, they always stand to
the side. Ever wonder why they do that? Why do they hide?
To all His girls that are really blonde and always forget what they are
trying to say. Sometimes I think boys pick on us just
because they know we will forget it by the next day.
To all His girls that are punks and ride on skates or a board. And they
don’t forget they skate for the Lord.
To all His girls that feel unloved by their family, and always set
aside. The ones that wanted Jesus to hold them,
so in His arms they could cry.
To all His girls whose parents don’t like the way you act or the way you
dress. But they won’t look at that your giving your
100 percent and you’re doing your best.
To all His girls that dance in the dark, and even if they can’t carry a
note they still sing. Don’t you dare try to stop
those girls, ‘cuz it’s His praise that they bring.
To all His girls that live in their room and cry in the night. I know
You’re hurt but DON’T give up the fight.
The one thing that makes us all the same, is that we belong to Him. And
when the dust clears away after the fight, you’ll
see we’re the ones that win.
He loves you! Always has and always will. Even if you have turned Him
away! He will love you still!
To all His girls that are still with Him in the end, I hope there won’t
just be a few. I will be in that group, I hope you all are too.
Freedom
Sara D., age 15, New York
Preserved undeserved
through soldiers ceased.
Freedom
Lived out without
merits properly appeased.
Freedom
Taken unnoticed.
Appreciation rarely handed out
to those who fought for
to that which stands for
from what we base our rights on.
with passion they fight on
with boredom we continue on.
We don’t imagine
our life barren
of the advantages
of freedom of speech
our license to mindfully speak
of religion and doctrine
ours to choose as we please
of press and assembly
tools we daily use
in the house and congress
as our grievances are heard.
When we plead the fifth
or publicly strike
or when we drive to church
or against corruption we unite,
then our freedoms are best exercised.
In our own best interest
we should daily assume
that a life without freedom
is a life of the amplest gloom.
