What is the greatest lesson you learned in Missionettes?
The greatest lesson I have learned in Missionettes is that God is always there for me, even when others aren't. He is always there to guide me and to help me through my troubles. He is the shoulder that I can lean on and the friend who is closer than a brother.
Who was your greatest support as you completed the program and why?
Of course, one would be my mother. But in the Missionettes program, it would be two ladies: Ms. Bonnie and Ms. Patricia. These ladies helped me through many tough times and with getting my Gold Medal. I praise God that He sent such wonderful ladies to be my role models. God Bless you ladies always.
What fun memory would you like to share?
I have three favorites. The most recent was last September at the Girls Only retreat; we went to Disneyland. Our leader Bonnie, who isn't fond of the dark, was scared when the Indiana Jones ride stopped in the dark. So I reached over and lightly touched her shoulder. She flew forward and screamed. I still laugh; it was so funny. The second was again at Girls Only retreat two years ago when Bonnie and I got into a pillow fight in our hotel room. Then, we knocked on our district coordinator’s room and jumped into the elevator. And last but not least, we had a mouse in our cabin and all my girls were going crazy. I was trying to catch it, the whole time screaming “TWANDA!” Anyway, one of the camp staff (GO LORI!) came in and was trying to calm everyone down and stop me from catching it. We talked for a while, and she saw the mouse and again we started screaming “TWANDA!” It was great!
