What is the greatest lesson you learned in Missionettes?

In all the years I have been in Missionettes the greatest lesson I have learned is that I can do anything through Christ who strengthens me. God has given me strength to complete my journey in the Missionettes program, from the time I was a Rainbow to this moment in my life. I continue to discover and experience the lessons I learned in Missionettes daily. Although, I am no longer a Missionette as a girl, I am now a Missionette as a Prims Sponsor, and I am grateful to God for allowing me to have this experience as well. Going through the program was tough especially with the managing of my time and keeping up with my memory work. Through God’s strength I am now better able to share the wisdom He has given me with my girls. In order to better serve Him I have accepted this sponsorship position to work with these girls, who I hope will follow in my path and become a gold medallist. Also, to share and teach the Missionettes values and principles to them so that they also can know that we can do all things through Christ!

Who was your greatest support as you completed the program and why?

Looking back on the years of my Missionette experience I have become aware of the many people who have supported me in finishing this program. First of all, I would like to thank God for always being with me and guiding me through my daily life. Secondly, I would like to recognize my wonderful sponsors for their dedication to the program, and to my local church for supporting the Missionettes Ministry—not only as a group but spiritually and financially. Finally, one person in particular that I would like to name as my greatest support besides God, is my mom (Betty Colop) who has not only been my mother but also my coordinator, a sponsor, and a friend. All the way through the program from Rainbows to Girls Only, she has given me her love and support as she has encouraged me to do my best for the Lord daily. I don’t think I could have done it without her constant support and those extra kicks when I needed it. I am eternally thankful to the Lord that He gave me such a wonderful mom; she truly is one in a million.

What fun memory would you like to share?

I have accumulated many fond memories in the Missionettes program over the years, but a few that stand out are the ones from the summer camps. Half of the fun of going to Missionette camps was the fundraising and the planning of the trips. With fundraising the other girls and I have became more of a team and we all have learned to work together, making us a stronger group. And of course there is the planning and preparation for camp which entailed making T-shirts, posters, banners, and all sorts of other crafts. All of these memories have left an imprint on my life and have changed it forever. I don’t know where or what I would be doing without the experiences that Missionettes has given me. I hope every girl would be able to experience and have memories like mine of the Missionette program.
